BIG BROTHER & THE HOLDING COMPANY - Tues, March 1, 1966 at the MATRIX (S.F. venue) - First / Only printing handbill - 8 1/2" x 10 15/32" - Black gestetner type printing on salmon pink / mauve construction paper - Artwork by Ray Anderson (See The Art of Rock, page 167, plate 2.124 for a similar example of his work) - Janis had not yet joined the band - I've only seen three copies of this handbill thus far! (I owned all three at one point) - Light aging in the construction paper, small light stain on the backside that does not penetrate to the front side, a few minor small handling bends, has penciled note from underground comix artist great George Metzger, of "Moondog" fame on backside only - Ultra Mega Rare - Pristine B+ copy (some of the light bends were pressed out of the paper with an iron) - Inquire

(with Janis Joplin) - QUICKSILVER MESSENGER SERVICE - June 24 & 25, 1966 Family Dog Presents at the Avalon Ballroom - First printing Concert Handbill on thick paper or very thin card stock with blank backside - 5 5/8" x 7 5/8" - This is the "gold Family Dog logo" version - Staple hole at top center edge and bottom center edge (a tiny stain at this location), some blue ink at the "I" at top of image (possibly from printing process), small green felt tip mark at "B" below the image, minor bumps - Rare - Beautiful B / B- to B copy - Inquire for Current Price / Availability

(with Janis Joplin) - ELECTRIC TRAIN - Oct 7 & 8, 1966 at the Avalon Ballroom (FD #29-RP-3 in the series of Family Dog posters, as numbered by Eric King) - 2nd Printing poster of this Mouse & Kelley artwork of the "Girl with Green Hair", Art Nouveau in psychedelicized form (fewer copies of the 2nd printing than the 1st printing were produced by Bindweed Press) - 14 1/4" x 20" - Printed by The Bindweed Press - Only 1,000 copies of the 2nd printing rolled off the presses back in the 60's - Has thumbtack hole at upper right and upper left corners, clean, light paper aging - Will look great in a frame as is! - Beautiful B+ / A- copy - Inquire for Current Price / Availability
