JIMI HENDRIX

JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE - Feb 10, 1968 (this poster was actually produced by Rick Griffin & Gordon McClelland in the early 70's, as a concert memorial & to give Rick a chance to use the central illo on a Hendrix poster) - First Printing California Graphix Exchange Poster - 13 15/16" x 21 1/16" - See page 277, Plate 3.68 in the ART of ROCK for a full color reproduction of this incredible Griffin graphic! - The central illustration originally appeared in ZAP COMIX #2 - Mega deep, dark blue background with intense red behind the bold, black central illustration - Shrine Auditorium info at bottom is black against the deep blue background and thus is quite difficult to discern until one is looking for it - This copy has a ding at each corner, clean staple hole at lower right corner area and at upper left corner, a few light, difficult to notice bends, including one in the image area which is primarily visible from the back side - Will look fantastic in a frame as is! - The original printer, Gordon McClelland, thought there were only 500 to 750, at most, produced in 1973/1974 at California Graphix Exchange when he worked closely with Rick Griffin on several poster projects -Ultra Rare - Pristine B+ condition - Inquire for Availability & Current Price

JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE - SOFT MACHINE - July 30, 1968 at Independence Hall / Lakeshore Auditorium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana - 2nd Printing Concert Poster published by GLOBE PRINTING sometime in the 1980's or 1990's - 23" x 29" - Printed on window card stock (thick cardboard like material), small print run - Dayglo / fluorescent colors, pink / red, goldenrod orange & black - Black smudges (too much ink on the rollers that day) appear at the left side (scan below was taken of another copy of the poster, so the smudges that appear on this copy are not visible). One is 1" x 1/2" (very light black, the fluorescent pink color shows through rather  well), the 2nd is about 1" x 1/4" to 1/2" (irregular shape) -- both are in the background at the upper left side of the image area near the edge of  the poster border. The third is about 2" x up to 1/2" (mostly thinner) ink blotch at the edge of the window card stock, near the above smudges  near the upper left corner.

There's also a fair amount of the black ink on the back side of the poster, almost resembling an ink bleed, caused  from being stacked on top of the previous poster. - This 2nd printing poster has been out of print for a number of years and a cleaner copy of this poster went for a hefty amount in a 2008 Heritage Auction, and on eBay in 2017 - I acquired this poster from Globe Poster directly, when they only had this copy left, since it had significant black ink bleed, etc. and they had to dig it out of the back room for me - Ultra Mega Rare - Beautiful A-/B+ to B+ condition - Inquire for Availability / Current Price - **Extra Shipping costs for this Godzilla size window card poster

Scan photo below (click below) taken in bright light, actual colors of poster are much brighter, crisper, sharper - Will send multiple photos of this poster your way if you are potentially interested in purchasing it.
