PEACE ROCK - THE WILDFLOWER - THE MYSTERY TREND - THE QUICKSILVER MESSENGER SERVICE - OUR LOST SOULS (The Girls) - BIG BROTHER AND THE HOLDING COMPANY ( with JANIS JOPLIN ) -Sat. Feb 12, 1966 at the Fillmore Auditorium - First Printing Peace Rock Festival Handbill - 8 1/2" x 11" - This is the PEACE ROCK festival handbill that is most similar to the version in the upper left hand corner of page 14 in The ART OF ROCK book by Paul Grushkin (AOR), though this copy has a different list of bands, which are (in order of appearance from top to bottom in calligraphy on the handbill itself) - This version appears to be the scarcest of the lot, to the best of my current knowledge base - THE GRATEFUL DEAD was added later versions of the handbill announcements which appeared prior to the festival date:

The Wildflower

The Mystery Trend

The Quicksilver Messenger Service

Our Lost Souls (The Girls)

Big Brother & the Holding Company

GRATEFUL DEAD - MOBY GRAPE - STEVE MILLER BAND - Dec 23 & 24, 1966 at the Avalon Ballroom in S.F. - First / Only Printing MOJO Navigator version Concert Handbill - This is the variation of the handbill which was used as a page of issue #12 of Mojo Navigator - Most copies of this variation were removed from that issue and thus exhibit holes from staples, though since this copy came from a small stash of proof copies, it was never stapled into the magazine - It has been backed with type and was used as a page & ad for an early San Francisco magazine called 'The Mojo Navigator Issue #12. It has part of a COUNTRY JOE & THE FISH interview printed on the back along with page #6', at lower left corner indicates the art side was to be page 5 of the magazine with the text side page 6 - The Family Dog would pay, or barter, to have flyers inserted in the magazine to advertise their shows - This copy has NO holes, since it was never stapled into the publication - Ultra Mega Rare - Pristine A/A- to A- Condition - Inquire for Availability & Current Price
