FD-P-1-680216B - BLUE CHEER - NAZZ ARE BLUES BAND - Feb 16 & 17, 1968 at the CRYSTAL BALLROOM in Portland, Oregon - First / Only printing handbill features artwork by DeWaide - 5 13/16" x 4 1/4" - Printed on slick white cannery label stock - This piece represents the first Family Dog numbered item in the series of Portland shows, commonly referred to as P-1 - - Whitey Davis (RIP), who was working for Chet Helms (Family Dog), arrived in Portland to help set up alternate concerts for bands in the Dog's attempt to compete with Bill Graham's ability to offer bands multiple gig appearances at his various venues - Only handbills of this design are known thus far - I've only seen 15 copies of this rarity in the 9+ years I extensively hunted posters and handbills in the Portland area!
